Crab Festival Launches with Five Crab Varieties Served in
Over Two Dozen Menu Selections


The Crab Festival launches on January 10 and runs through the end of February with five varieties of delicious crab being served in over two dozen different menu selections at all Market Street restaurants. This year Baci and Cafe Pierpont will join in the festivities, each offering a crab specialty on their menus.

Ty Fredrickson, General Manager of the Market Street Broiler says, "The Market Street Broiler and both the Market Street Grill & Oyster Bar* located in Cottonwood and Downtown will feature crab in a special selection of appetizers, salads, and entrees at lunch and dinner." The Market Street Grill/Downtown will also offer crab selections at breakfast.

In addition to Alaska King Crab Legs, whole Dungeness, and Snow Crab -- Market Street menus will also include Lump Crab and Rock Crab. For those who prefer a south-of-the-border or Italian flavor, Cafe Pierpont will feature their famous Crab Enchiladas and Baci will serve handmade Crab Raviolis.

Market Street chefs will be serving:
• Crab on ice or steamed
• Crab grilled in crab cakes
• Crab stuffed in shrimp and lobster tails
• Crab in salads
• Crab and avocado sandwiches
• Crab paired with halibut and steak in a traditional
Oscar served with asparagus and lemony hollandaise sauce
• Crab appetizers
• just to name just a few of the scrumptious choices.


It's easy to purchase crab to enjoy at home at the Market Street Fresh Fish Markets located at the Broiler and at the Grill/Cottonwood, where a large selection will be available. Scott Loring, Chef at the Market Street Grill, Fresh Fish Market & Oyster Bar*/Cottonwood says, "Crab is probably one of the easiest and most delicious seafoods to serve. Since it is already cooked when you purchase it in our Fresh Fish Markets, you can serve it immediately in a variety of ways:"
• Serve it with your favorite salad ingredients
• Pair it with pasta
• Serve it along with your favorite steak
• Serve it alone - either chilled with cocktail sauce or steamed with drawn butter.

and you'll have a meal that will score rave reviews.


For crab lovers who will be watching the Super Bowl, Ty Fredrickson suggests a combination plate of cold cracked King and Dungeness crab to serve a couple or a crowd. "Just serve it on a platter if ice along with a loaf of Market Street Sourdough bread and a green salad and you'll have a winter feast." King Crab pre-cut leg sections (which allow the succulent meat to be retrieved easily), fresh Dungeness Crab-whole and cleaned or in clusters - are available at the Market Street Fresh Fish Markets, along with Snow Crab, Lump Crab, and Rock Crab.
